About Us

Dr. Mark Leondires founded Gay Parents To Be as a personal and professional journey, after he learned first hand how challenging it can be for LGBTQ parents-to-be to have a baby. He married his husband in 2010, and is now a father to two sons. He feels strongly that if one desires to have a family the hurdles are surmountable and the joys, boundless.

Now, Gay Parents To Be® is an informational resource and a starting point for LGBTQ parenting. We strive to provide the best care for LGBTQ couples and individuals as they navigate all of their family building options.

“My own journey [to parenthood] took time to develop as it was a delicate balance between my professional and personal life. As any LGBT person knows we always have concerns about acceptance. Legally married in the state of Connecticut to my husband and going through the process of choosing an egg donor, working with a wonderful gestational carrier and having my sons has dramatically changed my life and my perspective on family building. It has definitely enhanced the way I treat all my patients, especially my LGBT patients…I am proud to help others achieve their family building dreams.”

Your Center for LGBTQ Family Building

Many LGBTQ couples and solo parents to be want to have families of their own. We understand that families come in a beautiful array of colors and genders. Knowing that, we have created a team of specialists that are proud to help you build the family of your dreams. Our philosophy is to provide a supportive, compassionate, and encouraging environment for patients undergoing this process.

Fortunately, there are a variety of opportunities available to assist same-sex couples and individuals hoping to become parents. We maintain active partnerships with experts in the reproductive field, including representatives from the LGBTQ community-at-large, LGBTQ Parent voices, reproductive law experts, select surrogacy and egg donor agencies, and nationally recognized LGBTQ health psychologists, counselors and support individuals.

Matching these resources with our own first-class clinicians, caring staff, and state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, we hope to make the family building experience easy to understand and easy to access for members of the LGBTQ community.
