Are Your Legal Rights Protected?

Some of the legal issues associated with third party reproduction and gay parenting can differ from state to state. By working with an experienced attorney, you can help make sure that your parental rights are protected to the fullest extent of the law in any state where you choose to build your family. You can also make sure that your child’s rights are protected.

Connecticut | LGBT Family Legal Matters

In Connecticut where GayParentsToBe is located, the legal protections in place for LGBT parents are very strong. As a result, many LGBT individuals and couples choose to have a baby in Connecticut each year.  Here are just some of the most important legal advantages:

  • It’s legal to have same sex parents on your child’s birth certificate for children born in CT.
  • Surrogacy is legal in CT, and GayParentsToBe, in partnership with Reproductive Medicine Associates of Connecticut (RMACT), is also able to coordinate the use of  surrogates or gestational carriers for patients in many other states.
  • Egg Donation is legal in CT.
  • Thanks to the 2015 SCOTUS decision, gay marriage is of course legal in Connecticut and every other state in the country.

At GayParentsToBe we partner with many experienced attorneys and law practices that specialize in surrogacy law, adoption law, and the contractual, insurance, and other types of agreements that are designed to protect gay and Lesbian parents.

There are several reputable, experienced attorneys and law practices who work with our patients to help draft the gestational carrier and/or egg donor contracts, review the gestational carrier’s insurance, and obtain and file all other necessary documentation for parents-to-be.
