June is National Gay Pride Month Gay pride or LGBTQ pride is a global movement and philosophy asserting that lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals should be proud of their sexual orientation and embrace their gender identity. June is now the month of acceptance and the month to welcome diversity in communities regardless of sexual orientation. Check out some exciting events happening across the country that are great for your entire family!

On April 5 from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. the Triangle Community Center (TCC) of Fairfield County, CT and GayParentsToBe will host “Getting Started: A Lunch & Learn on LGBTQ Family Planning.” During the event, a panel of experts will discuss family building in the LGBTQ community. The event will include a light lunch and is being held at TCC’s new location at 618 West Avenue in Norwalk.

Amid good news, gay parenting is still a challenge. Uganda. Russia. Arizona.

Gay parents give thanks often: When we settle on a reproductive method we feel comfortable with. When one partner, or a surrogate, becomes pregnant. When we welcome a new baby into our family.

This year’s “Denim & Diamonds” theme brought out a multitude of cowboy hats and bedazzled outfits. Along with being an evening of dining and dancing, the night was also a fundraiser for the TCC to support its mission of serving the LGBT community in Fairfield County, CT. In addition to the silent auction, the TCC presented three honorees with Commitment to Service Awards.
